Adopting a new pet
Thank you for taking an interest in adopting an animal from our rescue. Where we are a rescue rather than a pet shop, things work slightly differently. Our animals come with the benefit of being health-checked, vaccinated (where applicable) and we also know the personality and characteristics of every single one of our animals. Our animals all deserve the best homes so we hope you don't mind us doing a few quick checks first to complete our homecheck process.

Before applying to adopt from us, please ask yourself the following questions:
-
How long could you new pet live? - are you able to provide care for your new pet for this long? Even when your children have grown up and left home?
-
Pets are not cheap! If you are unable to buy a suitable housing for them, you are probably unable to afford vet bills if something goes wrong. Are you financially able to care for new pets?
-
Pets need a lot of space. Please see the minimum requirements article on our blog for your species. We follow the guidelines of the RSPCA. Are you willing to give up a lot of space for your new animals?
-
Most animals are not children's pets, although they are great for children to enjoy. The responsibility of pets should be taken on by adults. If the children enjoy spending time with them, that is a bonus. Are you buying pets for your children or for the whole family?

Please consider the above for any species you are looking to adopt.
